Account & Data Deletion

You can request deletion of your Cookpal account and all associated data at any time. This page explains the steps, the data involved, and what is retained.

After deletion, your account and data cannot be recovered. Please proceed carefully.

1. How to delete your account

  • Open the Cookpal app and go to the Profile screen.
  • Tap the "Delete Account" button to start the deletion flow.
  • Check all three confirmation items: virtual assets will be forfeited and cannot be recovered; cooking records and preference data will be permanently deleted; the same phone number cannot be used to register more than 3 times within a year.
  • Type the exact phrase "I understand, delete account {your phone number}" in the input field (e.g., I understand, delete account 13800138000).
  • Tap "Confirm Delete". Your account and all associated data will be permanently deleted immediately.
  • If you cannot use the app, send a deletion request to service@cookpal.cn. We will process it within 7 business days.

2. Data that is deleted

  • User profile: phone number, nickname, avatar, and other personal information.
  • Kitchen memory: taste preferences, dietary restrictions, household size, kitchen equipment, and other preference data.
  • Cooking records: recipe records, time spent, ratings, and repeat-cooking history.
  • Conversation logs: voice conversation logs with the AI assistant.
  • State events: cooking state machine event records.
  • Virtual assets: energy point balance, top-up records, usage records, and grant records.
  • Order records: all order information.
  • Device information: registered device installation records.
  • Voice settings: personalized text-to-speech settings.
  • Local cache: all locally stored data on the app (auth tokens, preference cache, etc.) is automatically cleared after deletion.

3. Data that is retained

  • Legally required transaction records: certain transaction records must be retained for up to 30 days after deletion per Chinese law, after which they are automatically deleted.
  • Anonymized aggregate data: de-identified statistics that cannot be linked to you (such as recipe popularity and feature usage frequency) may be retained to improve service quality.

4. Deletion timeline

  • Via the app: your account and data are permanently deleted immediately upon confirmation. This action is irreversible.
  • Via email request: we will complete deletion within 7 business days of receiving your request.

5. Important notes

  • After deletion, the same phone number cannot be used to register more than 3 times within a year to prevent abuse.
  • Deletion is irreversible. Make sure you have backed up any information you need before proceeding.
  • After deletion, your existing auth token (JWT) remains technically valid for up to 7 days until it naturally expires, but cannot be used to access any services.
