Ingredients and amounts
- 1 lime (cut into two halves)
- 5 sprigs mint
- 20ml simple syrup
- 45ml gold rum
- 10ml Skyy vodka
Step-by-step method
Step 1
Cut one lime half into small wedges and place them in a highball glass. Muddle with a muddler to release the juice.
Step 2
Rub 3-4 mint sprigs around the rim of the glass, then drop them into the glass.
Step 3
Add 20ml simple syrup.
Step 4
Add 45ml gold rum.
Step 5
Squeeze the remaining lime half into the glass.
Step 6
Stir gently to partially dissolve the sugar or syrup.
Step 7
Fill the glass with crushed ice until it reaches three-quarters full.
Step 8
Top with chilled soda water until it just covers the ice.
Step 9
Stir with a rotating motion for 30 seconds.
Step 10
Top up the glass with more crushed ice.
Step 11
Slap the remaining mint sprig to release its aroma, then insert it into the ice as a garnish.
