Ingredients and amounts

  • Onion (1 large, or 1.5 if you prefer more onion)
  • Pork (250 g)
  • Garlic (3 cloves, crushed)
  • Cooking oil (15 ml)
  • Black pepper (1.25 g)
  • Soy sauce (30 ml)
  • Sugar (15 g)
  • Sesame oil (5 ml)
  • Ketchup (15 ml)
  • Cooking wine (15 ml)

Step-by-step method

  1. Step 1

Slice the onion. Cut the pork into bite-sized pieces. Crush the garlic. Mix all the seasonings (soy sauce, sugar, sesame oil, ketchup, cooking wine, black pepper) together in a small bowl.

  2. Step 2

Heat 1 tablespoon (15 ml) of cooking oil in a wok over high heat for 10 seconds. Add the pork.

  3. Step 3

Stir-fry the pork until it changes color, then add the crushed garlic and stir-fry until fragrant. Remove the pork and garlic from the wok and set aside.

  4. Step 4

In the same wok, add the sliced onion and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes. Add the prepared seasoning mixture and stir-fry until well combined.

  5. Step 5

Return the reserved pork and garlic to the wok. Stir-fry until the pork is fully cooked.

  6. Step 6

Once the pork is cooked, continue to stir-fry for another 1-2 minutes. Remove from heat and serve.
