Ingredients and amounts
- 250 g beef per person
- 2 green bell peppers per person (100 g each)
- 20 g cumin per person
- 3 bird's eye chilies per person (5 g each)
- 20 ml light soy sauce per person
- 10 g cornstarch per person
- 15 ml oil per person
- 3 g salt per person
- 1 scallion per person (20 g each)
Step-by-step method
Step 1
Finely chop the bird's eye chilies and crush them together with the cumin seeds in a mortar and pestle until granular for better flavor. Skip this step if short on time.
Step 2
Cut the green bell peppers, remove the tops and seeds (leave seeds if you prefer spicy), and slice into strips. Cut the scallion into sections.
Step 3
Thaw the beef in advance, rinse it under water, pat dry with paper towels, and slice against the grain.
Step 4
Marinate the beef: add light soy sauce, cornstarch, and oil, mix well, and let rest for 30 minutes.
Step 5
Heat oil in a wok, add the scallion, stir-fry until fragrant, then add the marinated beef and stir-fry.
Step 6
Once the beef changes color, evenly sprinkle in the crushed cumin and chili mixture, and stir-fry until cooked through.
Step 7
Add the green bell pepper strips, stir-fry until just cooked, then add salt.
Step 8
Stir-fry over high heat for 1 minute, then turn off the heat and stir-fry for another 30 seconds to ensure even heating. Serve immediately.
